Telugu Actress Yamuna and Venugopal, a CEO of a software firm. They have been arrested for alleged involvement in a prostitution racket.

They have been picked up by the police after a CCB raid on a five-star hotel, where a South Indian actor was arrested with two men on Thursday night. After their arrest, the Police was tight-lipped on the issue and said that they had to collect more evidence about the racket, before making it public.

On Friday morning, three of them including Yamuna, Venugopal and one of his friend, Surakshit Suman were produced before the magistrate at his residence. They have been remanded to judicial custody and sent to Parappana Agrahara.

Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, neither confirming the raid, nor denying it, said: “Three months ago, I received information about a hi-tech prostitution racket in the city. I had directed Alok Kumar to look into the issue. The CCB might have conducted the raid, but haven’t given complete details,” he said.

Besides, most of the transactions are made using internet and we need to gather evidence from the net also. This takes time and once we get to the bottom of the racket, we can come out with proper details. We need some time for the investigation,” he added.
